Weekly Wrap Up

Hi! Finally getting around to my wrap up. I have been reading quite a bit, so I have a few for you.

I received this from Netgalley and Random House in exchange for my honest review.

When I first started reading, Sophie was one of the first authors I read. I still remember going to the bookstore and picking up her book.

I was super excited to read this, since it’s been awhile. But honestly, I was disappointed. The romance was ok, but overall there was too much going on and I just became bored. The uptight friends, the selfish sister, the mean brother. Everyone treated her bad and she was such a pushover. Not my favorite

Thank you to Edelweiss and HarperCollins for this in exchange for my honest review.

This has a super cute romance from 2 totally opposite people. The dog rescue was a nice touch too. Trigger…it mentions cutting quite a bit. That bothered me. I get it was part of the story but i didn’t like that.

5 star read

Thank you to Balzer + Bray (HarperCollins) and Edelweiss for this in exchange for my honest review.

C.J. creates a masterpiece with this one. I didn’t even realize it was a Cinderella retelling of sorts until the end. I adored the slow enemies to love romance with Blue and Prince Kellen. I felt so sorry for all the losses they had had and how sweet Kellen was with her. A perfect fairytale ending.

I hate that this story is ending, but whew what a long book. It made me happy that for the most part that all got a HEA, but it did make me sad with what Simon had to give up. It was especially sad how it affects the others but I have hope it will all be ok.

5 star read

Ok…I adored The Royals Elle wrote with Jen as Erin Watt, so I wanted to give this a try. And… I loved it. Garrett was amazing and I loved the romance with Hannah. They are such a fun couple. I absolutely devoured this story from beginning to end.

After reading The Deal, I jumped right into The Mistake. I couldn’t wait to read Logan’s story. Although, it wasn’t as good as Garrett and Hannah’s story, I still really enjoyed it. Watching Logan be tamed was an enjoyable read.

Have you read any of these? What did you think? What have you been reading?

Release Day!! The Hail Mary by Ginger Scott

This is an amazing series! I adored the first two books and I can’t wait to see how Reed and Nolan’s story continues. Ginger has an amazing talent to bring her stories to life and totally suck you in. Don’t miss this series!!!

Here are Books 1 & 2 of the series!

I Love Winter Tag

My great friend Noly tagged me in this post. If you don’t follow her all ready, she is the kindest, sweetest person!

It’s been a while since I have done one of these!

Rules:

  • List at least 5 points that make you like winter (you can do more if you like, but if you have problems coming up with the five, try thinking of the little things, as always
  • Tag some other people (the number doesn’t matter)
  • ENJOY

Here Are Mine:

1. Christmas comes. It is my favorite holiday. I love everything that comes with Christmas!! The trees, the lights, the presents. I always wish for a Christmas with snow and I have hopes it will come one day.

2. Snow!! It is beautiful, but only if I don’t have to drive in it😔

3. Big fluffy blankets I can snuggle in

4. I got an adorable hat, glove and scarf set for Christmas I enjoy wearing.

5. Last but not least!!!

Boots and leggings😍 I love to wear boots and leggings. I miss them in the summer, but I do love my flip flops.

❄️🎁🎄⛄️

What are your favorite things about Winter?? I would love to hear them. Are any of mine on your list?

Cover Reveal: The Blood Prince

I am so excited to bring this cover reveal to you! Isn’t it stunning?

This series is amazing. It has vampires and zombies!! What more could you need?? And the author is super nice and is always so supportive of bloggers. I am excited to do my part to help support her.

I have already read and reviewed the other 2 books in this series. Feel free to check them out if you’d like!

Last Few Weeks Wrap Up and Happy New Years!!

Happy New Year Everyone!!

I can’t believe the holidays are over and it’s back to work. I always hate for this time to arrive. Although, I am looking forward to a new year. I am not the type for resolutions, so I don’t have any of those.

I am so fortunate to have this blog and all my friends on Twitter to chat with and I hope to continue to do so this year.

On to the Books!!

These are the books I have completed since we last chatted

City of Lost Souls

I really enjoyed this book! It is non stop and kept me flipping pages. I am so glad Jace is back to himself and I hope him and Clary get a little peace. Still loving Simon and I am glad everyone seems to have worked through their relationship issues, well except Magnus and Alec. And Sebastian is still out there!!

#Awestruck

I received a copy of this from Netgalley and Montlake Romance in exchange for my honest review.

Omg!! Sariah Wilson creates the perfect love stories. This is my second book by her and I absolutely adore them both. Ashton wanted so bad to hate Evan but he broke through all her walls. I love the sport and family aspect of the story too. This was so much fun!

Origin and Opposition (Shadows is a bonus story in the last book)

I hate that this story has ended. I loved this cast of characters and especially Daemon😍 They all have to go through so much in an effort to save basically the whole world and it is at times heartbreaking, especially the losses. I am happy with the way it ended and loved Shadows for the chance to get to know Dawson and Bethany better. We learn so little about their past in the story, I am thrilled the author took time to give us this.

99 Percent Mine

I received this as a Goodreads giveaway winner and also shortly after, I was approved on Edelweiss by HarperCollins in exchange for my honest review.

I went in to this thinking it would be just like The Hating Game, which was one of my favorite reads of 2018, and was a little disappointed in the beginning.

This book is bolder, snarky and with some language. As the story went on, I found myself really enjoying it. The ending was nice. I could have done without the continuous remarks about how sexy the main character was(in graphic detail), but overall it was a fast, fun read.

Bring Me Home

I received this from the author in exchange for my honest review.

This book was a short, sweet romance set in College. It had a very happy ending and it think it was a good start for a debut author.

Now on to a new year! The last 2 books are counted on this year as I finished them today. So I am already 2 books down. Take that Goodreads!!

What are you reading?? Do you have any suggestions of books I need to read? I can’t believe it took me this long to find Cassandra Clare and Jennifer Armentrout!

Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas Eve Eve everyone!

We are enjoying family and time home with each other. The kids are super excited and I am catching up on a little reading this morning.

I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and to thank you all for a wonderful blogging year.

I am blown away by the amount of you who actually listened to my ramblings and am so thankful for each and every one of you.

I have met so many wonderful people, found out about books I wouldn’t have known about and fangirled with major laughs with some of the best of you! And I only started in July!!!

I can’t wait to see what next year brings!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Ps:: I am still in the Shadowhunter world. City of Lost Souls

Wrap Up

Hi!! I finally got back around to catching up. Sorry I have been MIA again! Christmas is in full effect here. Shopping, wrapping, and parties have been keeping us busy. My shopping is done (for the 10th time or so😂) I just can’t pass up some of these sales.

We also have family coming home next week and a few birthdays before Christmas. So I may still be MIA for a little longer.

Anyway, without further ado, here are the books I actually managed to finish!!!

I received this ebook from Edelweiss and HarperCollins in exchange for my honest review.

This book was a roller coaster. I wanted the love between them to invest me and it didn’t. It was just placed in the background. I wanted to care about the characters and I didn’t.

It wasn’t a bad book at all. I just felt it was kind of all over the place. Nothing was really gone over in depth. There were so many major relationships that just kind of skimmed the surface.

This was an interesting murder mystery. People trapped in a bed and breakfast in the woods in a snowstorm, count me in. I definitely didn’t know who the killer was and it kept me guessing. Shari creates stories that put you out of your element and make you question everyone around you😂

I received a copy of this from Netgalley and Harlequin Teen in exchange for my honest review.

Omg! Where to start? This book gave me all the feels. It is such a deep book and the trauma of what one decision does to a family. My heart broke for the main characters of this story who were going through the same thing from different angles. I don’t want to give too much away, but this was so good. Abigail tore my heart out and made a new fan in me. I immediately ordered her other 2 books!

I borrowed this with my Amazon Prime. If you aren’t taking advantage of this, you should. This was so cute and fluffy and I couldn’t put it down! Chase was adorable and so was their romance. I can’t wait to read more from Sariah!!

And last but not least….

@iamheatherblair I couldn’t help myself. I had to finish it.

Jace…sweet Jace. Why can’t you catch a break?? Stay away from evil Jonathan. I just want you to be happy with Clary😭

Simon still makes me happy and I am glad he solved his women trouble. I am also happy Luke and Jocelyn get a happy moment.

What are you guys reading? What are your Christmas plans? Miss you all and hope to be more regular soon😍

My (last few) Weeks In Review

Hi everyone!!

I am so sorry I have been MIA lately. I have been so busy and sometimes life gets in the way.

I am so excited it is finally December!! Christmas is my favorite and I am enjoying everything Christmas right now. My tree is up, shopping is almost done, and Christmas movies are on most nights.

My reading has been a little slower as I am currently in the middle of 2 different series and added a few others in as well.

Here are the books I have finished since I chatted last:

I finally jumped on this bandwagon and I am so glad I did! Why did you guys let me leave these On my shelves for years???

I adore Jace and Clary and am so glad they finally figured out they aren’t siblings. And Simon is just adorable.

I am still undecided which book to read next. Everyone says to go with Clockwork Angel but I don’t know if my OCD will allow it.

Another bandwagon I am fully on board. This is so much fun. It is still very Twilighty but I dig it!

I crack up every time Daemon calls Blake by a different name.

I received a copy of this From Netgalley and Bookouture in exchange for my honest review.

This book had a cute storyline but it just wasn’t my type of book. The characters are older and the language is different than what I am used to, but still not a bad read.

The mystery was fun.

See you all next time!

(Hopefully it won’t be so long)

Review: My Favorite Half-night Stand

www.goodreads.com/book/show/38357345

I received a copy of this ebook from Netgalley and Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books in exchange for my honest review.

This was my first book by Christina Lauren and I was thrilled to be able to review it. I have heard such wonderful things about her books.

The story follows Millie and her friends who are all professors at a college. They have a wonderful friendship and spend lots of time together. Millie has a crush on her friend Reid and he has one on her as well. Neither of them seem to understand their feelings for each other and try to ignore them.

The professors have a party they must attend and are looking for dates. As they are all single they sign up on a dating app. Surprise, surprise Millie and Reid are a match. They begin to chat online, but Reid doesn’t know its Millie because she used a different name.

I wanted to love this book. I just felt the main character was hard to get in touch with. She was very private and hard to understand at times. The book is also very short, so it seemed a little rushed. It was not a bad book, but just did not wow me either. I have higher hopes for Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating and Roomies, both of which I own.

Have you read it? What did you think?

It is available to buy on December 4th
